Sinker - Alternate Ending

Six months later

DCI Gene Hunt pushed the white-painted gate open with one foot, his hands full of carrier bags. He slowly made his way up the narrow garden path and pushed open the front door gently in the same way.

"Hi, honey! I'm home!"

A welcoming voice answered him. "I'm in the kitchen, Gene, bring the bags through, won't you love?"

Gene smiled to himself and, pushing the door to, walked down the short hallway into the kitchen and deposited the bags on the table.

His lover immediately started rifling through them. "So what have you got me this time?", pulling out a couple of mangoes and some lemongrass. "Lemongrass! Where on earth did you pick that up?"

Gene held up an admonishing finger. "Hey, hey. Aren't you forgetting something, Gladys?"

'Gladys' immediately turned round, enveloping Gene in a big hug and turned his face up to be kissed. Gene wrapped his arms around the younger man, sealing his mouth with his own.

"Sammy," groaned Gene into the kiss, crushing the smaller man against him in his embrace.

"Gene," the younger man agreed, running his hands down his lover's back and gripping his arse.

After a long moment, Sam drew back, gazing into Gene's eyes, which were deep emerald green with desire. "I need you now, Gene. Make love to me."

Gene untangled himself and nodded and Sam grinned. He turned around undoing his trousers and bracing himself on the kitchen table as Gene reached into one of the bags and pulled out a small bottle of olive oil.

He pulled Sam's trousers down his long, lithe legs and poured a little of the oil on his fingers. Warming it slightly, he ran his now slick digits down the cleft of Sam's arse, probing in deep and searching for Sam's pink rosebud.

Sam moaned deep in his throat, pushing back on the fingers, as he found his entrance, which opened up around Gene's fingers like a flower.

Gene groaned low and unzipped himself with shaking fingers, positioning himself and gently pushing home until Sam was pierced to the guts.

Sam pushed back harder, trying to take it as much of Gene's jutting manhood as possible. Soon they found a hard, fast rhythm, the bottle in the bags on the table rattling alarmingly as they worked towards their mutual satisfaction.

Gene reached down and wrapped one meaty hand around Sam's cock, pulling and tugging until they came together with a mingled howl of pleasure.

Sam rested his head on the table as Gene gently pulled out, waiting for the older man to step away before pushing up off the surface with his hands.

He grimaced and let out a whimper as his shoulder protested and Gene moved in immediately, helping Sam up and onto one of the kitchen chairs.

"Are you all right, my love?"

Sam nodded, rubbing at the offending muscle with one hand. "I'm fine, it just twinges when I do anything unusual with. Like getting royally buggered against the kitchen table."

Gene immediately felt guilty. It was his actions, after all, that had ensured Sam was in the middle of a shoot-out between the police and that scum Vic Tyler. Moreover, it was his actions that had caused Sam to be in the way of Ray's bullet. A bullet that had been meant for Vic.

Sam immediately threw his arms around Gene, hugging him tight. "Hey, you. Don't feel guilty on my part."

To his horror, Gene felt tears sliding down his face and he buried his head in Sam's chest to hide the fact.

"I nearly lost you that day. And it's all my fault that you were there!"

Sam rubbed Gene's back in small, soothing circles. "Hey. I was there because I wanted to be there."

"You were there because Jack tricked you."

"So blame Jack Evans, not yourself."

"But I was the one who got you into the whole situation in the first place."

Sam put his hands on Gene's shoulders, pushing him up off his body. He stared into Gene's water-filled eyes. "We've agreed that the whole thing was a misunderstanding, love. That you were jealous. And anyway, we'd have never caught Vic Tyler if it hadn't all happened."

"But it was my pigheadedness that kept it going so long. I should've known."

"And it was Phyllis who completely misunderstood me when I mentioned that the latest case was one gigantic clusterfuck. And, you know, it wasn't all that bad."

"It wasn't?"

"Well, I got to keep you, didn't I?"

Gene sniffled slightly and Sam gave a sappy smile.

"Now, love. Dry your eyes and get yourself a bottle of beer out of the fridge, while I have a look and see what I can rustle up for tea. We've got mangoes and I know a great Mexican recipe if you've bought us some chicken as well."

Gene wiped his eyes on his sleeve and then leaned forward and kissed Sam slowly. "I love you, honey."

"I love you too, sweetie."

As Gene got up off his knees and Sam set about making himself look presentable, Sam turned and smiled Gene.

"Don't forget that Ray and Phyllis are coming over later for a rubber of bridge."

I would just like to say that I am very proud I didn't vomit when I first read this.

That is all.

I experienced a little gagging sensation... and *not* in a good way but I put it down to the Dickensian cough I picked up in Cardiff...

ROFLMAO -- I like my bunnies a little fluffy *not* Angora!
I'm sooooooo glad to see that Fi successfully tortured you too! Perhaps we need a secret "Victims of Fi" handshake? Reminds me, I need to look and see what pairing she hit you with in the end for the drabble meme...

I'd tell you that you're made of win but you already know that. This *really* could be the end scene from a Mills & Boon book. LOL, lots of fun and I'm soooo glad you went with the other ending :D

Perhaps having Gene cry is revenge enough? NO, it isn't! *pouts*

And I think we have conclusively proved that m31andy is the evil twin, have we not?

Just as well you didn't get to read it while you had food poisoning!
Jan. 2nd, 2008 01:55 am (UTC)
You know, if I wanted to feel ill today, I would have drank more last night.

I do believe I would have rather seen Sam slipped into the canal.
Jan. 3rd, 2008 06:26 am (UTC)
Me too, Ducky, me too.

But I suppose this is what evil twins are for. Inflicting pain on all of us!
Jan. 2nd, 2008 01:26 pm (UTC)
I read this earlier but had to go away and think.
I'll never look at Olive Oil in Tescos in the same way again. As for the mangoes and lemongrass.... what happened to them?
I suppose if you turned your head , this could be viewed as romantic - BH - Before Hookerverse I would have NEVER thought that! (Well turned your head, squinted hard, pulled on a blindfold, ran in circles for an hour, got mouldy drunk and looked through a really blurry glass) Or just stopped taking your anti-psychotic drugs.
Jan. 3rd, 2008 06:28 am (UTC)
The mangoes and lemongrass went in the "Chicken and Fruit" dish Sam cooked later.

Just don't ask what happened to the ginger

My pleasure. And, seriously, it's *all* Fi's fault!

What in the name of GOD was that?!

I'm so glad you chose the other ending.

*is gonna heave up because of too much sweetness*
Jan. 3rd, 2008 06:29 am (UTC)
*That* was my challenge fic response. Fi wanted something redolent of white picket fences, a playful puppy and children, playing in the pristine garden. She got shagging. Which is always better in my opinion!

Awful, wasn't it?!
Jan. 2nd, 2008 05:08 pm (UTC)

What did they do to you, in that place you went to for Christmas?

Concrit: btw I think "Sam was pierced to the guts" doesn't quite fit with the mood of the rest of the piece. *snerk*

And now, a challenge, since you like them so much:

This same scenario - post-Hooker!Verse, Sam and Gene living together happily(*) ever after, and how they got there. In character. In Hooker!Verse character.

(*) And that's happily by normal standards btw. Or at least by contrast with Sam's rent-boy days if that's the best you can do.

*pulls out pin, runs*

SEE! SEE! I'm not the only one!

I'm voting for the Manchester Criminal Empire headed up by the notorious crime boss Gene Genie and his nefarious love slave/business partner SammyBoy Tyler!

I would so write it if I could...omg, PLEAAAAAAASSSSSEEEEEEEE

Congratulations, you have broken my brain. It took me five minutes to stop laughing long enough to comment. And my brother's angry because I won't tell him what's so funny.

Nooooo - must now scrub out my brain. Very worrying and hugely funny.
Jan. 7th, 2008 08:24 am (UTC)

Well, far too many folk were asking for the white picket fence ending... I think the majority of them prefer the other...

Jan. 5th, 2008 03:03 pm (UTC)
While I do prefer the original ending, this one is much more smutty and strange :D, and do they really mean what I think they mean about 'coming over later' for a 'rubber of bridge'? Or have I been reading too much Hookerverse?

Well done, and I'm sure not gonna kill ya. Who would be responsible for all the cracky sex then? How boring things would be, really :)
Jan. 7th, 2008 02:44 am (UTC)
Ask Andy. She's the bridge player out of the pair of us. Although my husband did a lot of it as a teenager...

OMG!! That was SO disturbing. ROLF.
See you've created a mixed up reaction of feeling sick and laughin my head off. ;o)

I've just stayed up all night and read the whole of Hookerverse (apart from AU stuff with The Master) - yeah, an insomniac with a twisted, dark, smut addiction ;o)
And I'll agree with others that this alternate ending is the most disturbing thing in the verse!
Sickenly sweet fluffy schmoop usually makes me want to barf, but this utter utter Crack!fic ending of schmoop that pulls out the most hilarious cliches of badfic sex scenes is hilarious!
You are amazing. yet still of course incredibly disturbing of taken as a possible ending to what came before, ewww & lol.

I loved the Hookerverse !! I really should've said more & left specific comments, but I got addicted to reading the whole thing.
Just read my first LoM fics a day ago and found this already. My usual fandom is pretty obvious from my icon. I actually only have about 3 icons that aren't Buffy/Angelverse ones, but decided to use one of my numerous Spike ones anyway as it nicely illustrates the kinda fic I like to read - i.e. love a character? Hurt the pretty boy! Nom!
I love a good whore!fic, and so happy to have found such a talented pair of disturbed deviant pervs so early into my foray into the world of LoM fanfic. ( which I'm sure you will take as the highest compliment, as intended).
Honestly tho, I do love it when kinky dark stuff is written so well, with such talent and so engrossingly.
Now I'm sorely tempted to explore your back catalogue, but I really should be doing other things with my life. :o)
I'm thinking - why have I never read any LoM fic before? or rather , omg, of course, Sam/Gene is the perfect angsty/ sub-dom/ kinky/ UST/dark or whatever pairing. So hot.
Actually, the reason is that whenever I give time to my fanfic addiction it's consumed by reading Spike fic, and I only rarely foray out into other fandom's. But I think for a bit of variety I'll be exploring LoM for a wee bit.
( you didn't really want to know all that did you.. bloody rambler I am!)

Btw, does the white painted gate have a picket fence? In Manchester ?!?! Of course, the white picket fence is the symbol of fairytale schmoopy domesticity, which you obviously intend to invoke with the white gate, but I always think that we don't really have them much in the UK, I always think of it as a much more American thing, so for me using that symbol of schmoop in this fic makes it even more Cracktastic!
